Introducing Retention Policies

We are pleased to announce the introduction of Retention Policies, a comprehensive new feature that streamlines conversation lifecycle management. Organizations can now establish automated expiration rules for conversations, enhancing compliance capabilities while optimizing resource utilization.

Enhanced conversation management

Retention policies provide automated control over conversation lifecycles through configurable time-based rules. When conversations become idle, the system applies designated retention policies automatically, setting appropriate expiration dates based on organizational requirements. This approach supports various compliance timeframes, from short-term 7-day retention for immediate support cases to extended 90-day retention for regulatory compliance scenarios.

Policy configuration is accessible through the dashboard interface, supporting expiration periods from 1 to 365 days. Organizations requiring programmatic integration can utilize the comprehensive Policy API for custom implementation scenarios.

Business value and compliance

This feature addresses key organizational requirements across multiple domains. Compliance teams benefit from automated regulatory adherence without manual oversight requirements. IT departments gain improved resource optimization through systematic conversation cleanup. Privacy teams can demonstrate data minimization practices aligned with regulatory frameworks. Operations teams eliminate manual data management processes.

The implementation integrates seamlessly with existing conversation workflows, maintaining current functionality while adding sophisticated lifecycle management capabilities that align with organizational data governance requirements.

Organizations can access retention policy functionality through the Policies section within the dashboard interface to establish automated conversation management aligned with their operational requirements.
