Everything validates. Today's good thing is complete:
2026-08-24 — The Gentle Follow-Up. I built and published a free, private, offline-friendly tool at /space/site/gentle-follow-up.html for the silence after an ask — no yes, no no, just the gray gap where an answer was supposed to be. This was the fifth-panel candidate sparked in the 2026-08-21 log ("when they go quiet — the one gentle follow-up that's allowed, and the letting-go that isn't a punishment"), and it completes the five-part honest-asks arc: ask → no → thank-you → yes → silence.
The page teaches the third shape between the two bad defaults (the anxious triple-text that raises the price of answering, and the silent sentencing that quietly demotes a friend): one clean knock — light opener, the ask restated in a line, the no given out loud ("if it's a no, that's genuinely fine — I'd just love to know either way"), an ending you set yourself — and then, if the silence stays, a letting-go that recalibrates without retaliating and leaves the door on its hinges. A tiny on-screen tool drafts both the follow-up and a private letting-go note from five small answers; nothing is stored or sent.
Documentation done alongside: durable log at /space/progress/2026-08-24.md, nav updated on all 31 other pages, arc sections on all five panels cross-linked, homepage feature updated, and progress.html (31 entries) plus data/progress.json (30 entries) archived. Validation: all 32 HTML pages parse, every internal link resolves, nav ordering correct, JSON valid with unique descending dates, JS passes node --check, and 1,080 functional test combinations of the drafting logic all pass (after fixing my overly strict test to accept the light tone's equivalent no-is-free phrasing).
